Julit, a golden retriever, is currently undergoing training sessions with a professional trainer every day of the week. The aim of this training is to provide comfort and assistance to Memphis Rose, who recently suffered injuries in a car crash.
On July 27th, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, an adorable moment was captured when young golden retriever Juliette met Memphis Rose Hamm, a 6-month-old puppy who had recently become paralyzed. Despite their differences in age and physical abilities, the two pups hit it off and quickly became friends.
Gayrene Meade, 30, shares that her furry friend Julit couldn’t resist Memphis Rose’s charm and immediately hopped onto her lap, showering her with affection through licks and cuddles.
My child holds veterans in high regard, and her face lit up with joy upon meeting Julit – an adorable dog who would become her own. This moment was especially meaningful to me, as I had been struggling through some difficult weeks. Seeing my daughter’s delight brought a much-needed smile to my face.
Meade, a solo parent, was hit with heartbreaking news on the evening of June 7th. Her daughter, Memphis Rose, was tragically killed in a multi-car crash at Welligton, situated in the western part of Palm Beach County. Tya Meade and another individual named Kenneth Graden were both involved in a head-on collision that resulted in this devastating loss.
Graden had to be hospitalized the day after the accident as he was seated in the front passenger seat. Tya, who was driving the Scion car that belonged to their family, suffered from a fractured knee. Meanwhile, Memphis Rose, who was seated behind Graden, had a punctured lung, a fractured and dislocated neck, and a fractured si.
Meade explains that his daughter was inspired to pursue genetic counseling after watching a show that had a profound impact on her. Unfortunately, during an incident, she was unable to breathe and move for two and a half minutes. Luckily, a cast member performed CPR until she was airlifted by Trama Hawk to St. Mary’s Medical Center. The neurosurgeon warned that her spinal injury was severe, meaning recovery might not be possible and her chances of survival were slim.
When Memphis Rose first arrived at the hospital, she was given strong medications for the first two weeks. However, as her health declined, the doses were gradually decreased. Currently, S desires to undergo surgical tracheostomy and still relies on a ventilator. Unfortunately, Memphis Rose is unable to walk and her recovery is a long-term process that may take several months or even years.
According to Meade, Memphis Rose has only shed tears on two occasions. Despite being motionless, S is determined to regain her ability to move. As someone who is fond of glittery objects and mythical creatures such as unicorns, Meade’s perseverance may come in handy during her journey.
Thanks to Lori Griffith’s Chai A Dream Foundation, Memphis Rose got the chance to connect with a lovable golden retriever named Julit. The organization aims to support children facing life-threatening diseases in the Jupiter community.
“I had no idea that Memphis Rose had longed for a furry companion.” After reaching out to my connections at the Furry Friends Rescue Center in Jupiter, I received some incredible news that gave me chills and filled my heart with joy,” shares Griffith with PEOPLE.
When the unfortunate incident occurred, the Furry Friends Adoption Clinic Ranch had just welcomed a perky little pup named Juliet. Juliet came from Wyoming Sky Goldens, a well-respected breeder known for training their puppies to become service dogs for veterans. The furry newcomer was confident and friendly towards people.
According to Kourtney Hix, the owner of Wyoming Sky Gardens, they collaborated with a popular tiger trainer named Smmit Earhart, who is associated with Furry Friends Adoption. They sent their tiger, Juliet, to him as a gift for a veteran. Now, they are excited to announce that Juliette will be working for Memphis Rose in the near future.
Ever since they first met, Memphis Rose has been able to visit Juliette on several occasions. Whenever they see each other again, their lives seem to transform into a captivating tale that could easily be turned into a movie for Disney. According to Meade, it almost feels like a fairytale come true.
Julit joined Memphis Rose on a trip to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Philadelphia where they spent a couple of weeks engaging in physical therapy.

Currently, Julit is in Florida, where he will be reuniting with Earhart for a year. In mid-September, Memphis Rose Meade will travel to Florida again for a second week in the hospital. During this time, they will determine the best course of treatment and necessary medications. A new single-story home will be built for Memphis Rose, complete with a porch, and a yard will be provided for Juliette. Memphis Rose will also be allowed to visit Juliette while she continues traveling with Amelia Earhart.
According to Meade, the plan is for Memphis Rose and Juliette to get married, start a family, and for Juliette to eventually be a permanent part of their lives. Currently, Earhart and Julius are working together in Palm City to complete a training program that resembles a boot camp, with funding from Leeds Enablement, an organization that assists disabled individuals in leading healthy, productive, and independent lives. Earhart believes that Juliette is destined to be a Memphis Rose, but must first determine how much public access oxygen will require due to her extensive training program. Memphis Rose is a quadriplegic and therefore must not become overly excited or have emotional outbursts in response to anything she experiences.
Our advanced obedience training program aims to empower Juliette to make her own decisions. She will have the ability to turn lights on and off, put Memphis Rose to bed, and contact us if any unexpected issues arise with her ventilator or otherwise. Earhart, who has been with Juliette since she was 12 years old, has had no issues with her. Juliette is a capable individual who excels in socialization, toilet training, and environmental obedience.
Through trips to the grocery store, we hope to introduce Juliette to new experiences and familiarize her with welcigs, sliding ors, gts, gs, and l. Our goal is to encourage her to travel as much as possible so that she can gain more exposure to the world around her.
At the end of the day, we understand that we cannot control everything, but we are committed to supporting Juliette as she navigates through life. Memphis Rose is thrilled to see Juliette doing well, and we feel privileged to have made a positive impact in her life.
