Paw-some Display of Love: Canine’s Endearing Affection Shown in Playful Petting and Pawshakes with Fellow Creatures

Burlington, Ontario’s The Den Doggy Daycare has two regulars – Ruby and her brother Miles. However, Ruby is not one to take it easy when it comes to making friends. As a German shorthaired pointer, she is always up for some socializing.

Ruby expresses her affection for other dogs in the sweetest way possible – by showering them with the much-deserved pets.

A couple of months ago, a peculiar behavior exhibited by Ruby caught the attention of Alanah Lorraine. She takes her pet, Lexy, to day care where she observed this strange conduct. According to Lorraine, “Every time she comes in, she does that.” Our assumption is that Ruby seeks attention!

At the day care, Ruby just can’t resist touching her furry friends with her paws. Even though it confuses them, the other dogs tolerate her affectionate gestures because they know it’s how Ruby greets them.

Lorraine began taking pictures every time she caught Ruby pawing and eventually compiled the clips into a video. She shared it on TikTok and it quickly garnered tens of thousands of views.

Lorraine expressed surprise, saying, “I had the idea for something adorable, but I never imagined it would gain such widespread attention.”

When dogs paw at each other, it’s typically a symbol of submission or an offer to engage in playtime. However, when it comes to Ruby, she seems to be fixated on giving the other pups some much-needed head and back scratches.
