A touching demonstration of loyalty has captured hearts globally as a dedicated dog’s daily vigil at a subway station in Istanbul goes viral. The large, brown dog, affectionately named Boji, has been spotted regularly riding on buses, trams, subways, and ferries in the city over the past few months. Remarkably, Boji seems to know exactly where he’s going as he hops on and off the train.
According to Aylin Erol, the head of customer relations at Metro Istanbul, they came across a dog who seemed to be using their transportation services about two months ago. The dog appeared to know which stops to get off at and where to go. The situation was both fascinating and intriguing, prompting them to start monitoring the dog’s movements. It was impressive to see the dog navigate the system with such ease, almost as if he knew exactly what he was doing.
In the middle of August, Boji was rescued by public transportation workers and taken to a veterinarian for a medical examination. They also implanted a microchip in him that is connected to a mobile app, enabling Metro Istanbul’s customer service team to keep track of his location and well-being. Boji is now a celebrity among public transport users due to his frequent travels. He is always eager to take photos with commuters and receive plenty of pets and treats, whether he’s sleeping on a tram seat, rushing to catch a train, or basking in the breeze on a boat ride.
The most polite travel companion you can come across is none other than the good guy. According to Cumhuriyet, Boji follows all the travel etiquette without fail. He allows people to disembark first, waits for his turn and then boards the train. He doesn’t create any chaos while selecting his seat. In case he misses the metro, he even chases after it.
Boji is a dedicated radio personality who makes it a point to visit 29 different radio stations daily and covers around 18 miles during his travels throughout the city. He takes pleasure in meeting his loyal fans on his way. Unlike other commuters who cannot wait to get off the bus or metro, Boji finds this mode of transportation quite enjoyable.
Abdulkadir Yalçn, a passenger, expressed his admiration for the new subway design to Cumhuriyet, saying that it is beautiful and adds joy to their daily commutes. He also mentioned that it is the first time he has seen such a creative design. Interestingly, Boji, the adorable cat in the video, gets to ride the train for free as it is his home.
In today’s world, pets are highly valued for the companionship and emotional support they provide. They can reduce feelings of loneliness and stress, boost self-esteem, and promote positive emotions – especially in children. For many people, their pet is considered a beloved family member that they would never consider giving up. However, not all human-animal relationships are successful, and sometimes families are forced to resort to adoption when coexistence becomes impossible. Unfortunately, there are a variety of reasons why animals end up abandoned on the streets – including neglect, financial difficulties, unwanted litters, conflicts with children or new family members, and loss of homes. While some animals are lucky enough to find new homes, others are not so fortunate.
